It’s Just Gary is wrapped.

After a jam-packed 7 day shoot, we’ve wrapped principal photography on It’s Just Gary, our new short film.

We’ve been developing this project solidly over many, many months. To finally be on set for that week and have it all come together was invigorating. It was such a joy to work on, and we didn’t want it to end.

We were so fortunate to have such a superb crew of both industry professionals and eager emerging practitioners. The tone on set was relaxed and full of humour, and we look forward to working with such a fantastic crew again.

Photographer and part-time private detective Jetro Gaete snapped some on-set pics, which we’ll post on the upcoming It’s Just Gary website. But here’s a taster for y’all.

‘It’s Just Gary’ begins

Principal photography has begun on our new film ‘It’s Just Gary’.

In fact, today we completed our second day of shooting and it is proving an absolute pleasure to work with such a talented cast and crew. We’re looking forward to the days ahead, especially as much of the film is shot within the bowels of the City of Perth. Today was our first crack at negotiating the busy streets, and we seemed to work it out.

We’ll post up some stills from the shoot soon.

While it’s been a crazy few days, this image (posted on the This Is Perth Facebook fan page) has just made my day. Real projections, not photoshop trickery.

Save Bertie!

Save Bertie!

Bertie, the people have spoken.

Get onto the Facebook This is Perth fan page to check out this splendid image (and to add your own snaps of Bertie sightings).

Last night Cenz and Dan were on A Current Affair. A strange experience for many reasons, not least of which the fact that the reporter spent the whole time resting his hand on the crotch of a statue. When they first called, we thought they may have found out about our shonky business deals, and made preparations to hide our faces under our suit jackets. Perhaps we should have done that anyway.

This morning, Cenz (or Senz, as he was referred to) was interviewed on Mix94.5, and we’ve posted that up here for your pleasure.

Radio interviews online

We’ve been getting calls from all over the place, as This is Perth continues to filter through the state. People are loving it, and we’ve hit 35,000 views by this, the third day. Cenz was on 6PR this morning, which reacquainted us with the strange world of ‘am talk-radio’ and their own special way of using the English language. Mix 94.5 came knocking too.

While I suspect mainstream interest may now have peaked, and as we brace for a winding down to complete apathy from all but my mother, we’ve uploaded the radio interviews here in remembrance of this heady time.
